• Independence Square
Presently it is known around the world as Maidan. That is where Ukraine's patriots stood their ground and won. This large square is surrounded by buildings mostly raised during the Soviet rule epoch. It has monuments, fountains and underground mall to offer.
• St.Michael's Cathedral
This is one of the newest Kiev's cathedrals. Its roots go back to the 11th century. But the old church was destroyed by the communists and the new one was raised in 1990. It's a large Cathedral with many wall paintings and golden domes. A great place to worship God and take pictures.
• St. Sophia's Cathedral
This is one of Kiev's UNESCO World Heritage Sites. The Cathedral is located in the downtown hidden streets. You can find museums, churches and ancient artifacts on its territory, surrounded by an old stone fence.
• Golden Gate
This Gate was raised many centuries ago and was used as the city entrance gates all the way to the 18th century. The first floor is made out of huge stones, while the second one is made out of wood.
• Opera house
Kiev's opera was raised in 1901. It's a beautiful building both on the inside and on the outside. The place is decorated with stucco and stands on nice and green square.
• Kievo-Pecherska Lavra Monastery
This is the oldest Christian worship place in Kiev. It was founded in the 10th century. Monks just settled on the Kiev's hills and started digging caves. You can visit those ancient caves and see Lavra's relicts.
• War museum
This museum is located under a giant statue, called the Iron lady or the Motherland. You can see many war artifacts and weapons there.
