Kiev has many great historical and religious attractions to offer. This capital city has over 15 centuries of history. •Kievo-Pechersk Lavra Cave Monastery (UNESCO World Heritage Site)
The name "Lavra" means large fratry. It was founded over 10 centuries ago on Kiev hills. That is when the first cave was dug and the first monks settled there to pray and worship God. Only five centuries later the first stone cathedral was built in Lavra.
First monks abided in caves dug deep inside the hills. During the tour you can visit some of those caves and see monks' relicts there. You can also visit Lavra Museum of Treasures or climb its high bell tower.
This museum is located under and even inside the great statute of Motherland. This titanic statue is over 330 feet high. Its huge sword alone is 52 feet tall. Inside the museum you can find various WWII artifacts, weapons, clothes, etc. You may find helicopters and other military machines on the outer museum court.

•Arc of the Friendship of Nations
This arc was raised back in 1982. It resembles a rainbow made of steel. This arc is 20 feet high. This monument was built to highlight Russia and Ukraine friendship and it was dedicated to the 60th anniversary of Soviet Union creation.
At the end of the tour you are 5 steps away from Kreschatik Street (main Kiev's street), from where you can easily find your hotel or many great place to eat out or to go out.
